Auckland Foot Specialist

We’re proud to be Auckland’s foot specialists

We’re a foot specialist podiatry clinic in Remuera, providing specialised care and treatment of the feet, ankles and legs. This means our podiatrists treat foot pain, ankle sprains and weakness, leg injuries, sports injuries and more.

Foot specialist or doctor?

Our foot specialists are all registered, experienced and trusted podiatrists that are extensively trained and qualified in assessing, diagnosing and treating a range of foot, ankle and leg problems. We work alongside a large network of doctors who refer their patients to us for continuing care and treatment of leg pains. While many may initially see a doctor to discuss their symptoms, they are referred to our foot specialists because we have the right tools, analysis software (like video gait analysis) and treatment options that help relieve pain, accelerate healing, and help prevent the problem from recurring in the future. While many of our patients come from referrals from doctors, physiotherapists and other health professionals, you do not need a referral to book in with us.

Auckland foot doctors

We’re often asked if podiatrists are the same as foot doctors. Podiatrists are often referred to as foot doctors because of their speciality in treating problems with the foot, ankle and lower legs. While this name is assumed, we maintain the highest respect for our doctor and general practitioner colleagues and would like to make a clear differentiation that a doctor of medicine and a podiatric foot specialist are different professions. Doctors (doctors of medicine) hold an incredible wealth of knowledge of everything about the body as a whole, undergoing extensive training in the entire body and its systems. Doctors may also choose to specialise in specific areas, one of which can be orthopaedics, which means they perform surgery and other procedures to manage disorders affecting the hips, legs, knees, feet and ankles. If a patient requests a bunion surgery, we would refer them to an orthopaedic surgeon. Podiatrists solely focus on the feet, ankles, lower legs and knees. While we understand the relationship between foot and leg problems (like a leg leg length difference) and hip pain, it is outside of our scope to treat hip pain directly. While the work we do may help relieve hip pain, our focus is the lower limbs.

Podiatry Appointments For Foot & Leg Care

We recommend booking an appointment with our podiatrists if you’re experiencing pain or discomfort in your legs, feet or ankles, have sustained an injury during sports, have problems with your toenails or the skin around your feet in the form of cracked heels, corns, calluses or warts, or feel uncomfortable on your feet and would like some relief.
